A mid-race moment between mother and son

Posted on January 05 2017

“Last year while competing in the Angeles Crest 100 mile run, I found myself in 2nd place with 25 miles to go and chasing down 1st place. I came into the aid station and saw my 10-month-old baby who needed to nurse. It was without question that I held him and fed him in the middle of my race for as long as he needed. It gave him and I a moment to connect while I took away the energy to race the last miles. Though I didn’t win the race, it was a very special moment that I will always cherish.”- HOKA Athlete Jen Benna
