Celebrating The Support of Fellow Runners Through Video on Dailymile

Posted on December 30 2009

Last night I posted a video on celebrating my finishing of a challenge put forth by a fellow runner. Michelle (@bklynrunner on Twitter) was shooting to reach a goal of 1000 miles for the year, and that goal hopefully was reached today. In the past 24 hours, the support shown by fellow runners for both myself, Michelle, and the Dailymile running community in general has been astounding. Below are some of the video clips that have been posted by those who truly know what it means to be inspirational and motivational friends.

Video 1 – Matt W.

Video 2 – Kathy S.

I have to give special credit to Kathy from Run Talk Radio, for it was her idea to promote the video mile idea more broadly. Thanks Kathy!

Lastly, here’s the video that I posted myself:

Runblogger Runcast #4 – A Mile For Michelle and Matt from Pete Larson on Vimeo.

Runners are an incredibly supportive bunch, and the on-line running community has been a major source of motivation and support for me during the past year (particularly and Twitter). This runcast is for Michelle (@bklynrunner) and Matt (@luau), who are two of the most supportive and inspirational runners out there – we all agreed on December 7 to run 105 miles during the remainder of the month to help Michelle reach her goal of 1000 miles for 2009. This video documents the running of my last mile to complete Michelle’s challenge.
