Learning to accept myself
Posted on October 07 2017
“Learning to accept myself and love myself for who I am has been something I struggled with for a very long time, particularly my emotional side. I grew up with extremely hard-working parents. With this came the notion that displaying my emotions was weak. It was really hard for me to understand why I was always so emotional and that it was okay. It wasn’t until the end of my college career that I recognized the importance of my emotions and how they actually empowered me, rather than hindered me. I came to find that my emotions were what fueled my passion for things like running, and they allowed me to push past physical and mental walls. I have continued to embrace my emotions, and with it, I have felt more and more empowered as an individual.”- HOKA Athlete Dani Moreno
