Usually my posts are very cheerful and about how much I love running. This one is a bit different though.
I still love running more than anything in the world, but I have something to settle.
I’m “tired and sick” of finding people on that damn bench on top of Priya’s every time I run there to be alone for a while and reflect. I’m tired of all the smokers, druggies, drinkers, and just as much all the people who think they’ve “found” a “cool spot.” Priya’s is not just a pretty view, it’s not just a place to be alone, it’s our place. We’ve conquered the uphill so many times that the view belongs to us.
I challenge anyone who thinks that Priya’s isn’t just for people who share the love of running to the top. The day one of you beats me or anyone on the LHS XC Varsity Guys team will be the day we forever resign running up that hill. Until that day comes, stay off Priya’s.
On a lighter note, I love my XC team. I really appreciate all the hard work you’ve been putting in during the summer, all of you, keep it up and that ride to Fresno won’t be a dream.
This is the last season, let’s make it ours.
